Flower, Petals, Bloom

In inspiration of Takashi Yoshimatsu’s Piano Concerto ‘Memo Flora’ Op. 67

The title is in accordance with the names of the three movements in the concerto.

The petals fall

from the green roughs

in the distance.

The petals fall

like sweet clouds, descending

on the grounds below,

resting with ease.

The petals fall

each one—a blur of pink and white,

so sugary and nostalgic,

of the annual times       they make

that journey down

to our feet.
